Silicon Valley Curriculum
The ultimate goal of HT Immersive Bilingual Curriculum is to develop a global vision, communicate with people from across the world, and understand different ethnic groups and cultures. HT Impact Academy provides all the students with an all-rounded, high-standard, interdisciplinary international curriculum delivered in English. Such curricular framework is based on the CCSS of California, the United States, which has been widely implemented by prestigious schools in the Silicon Valley and outstanding international schools across the world. CCSS takes root in cutting-edge English teaching researches and has been made an extraordinary achievement. For example, many students educated according to this standard has been admitted by world-class universities, such as Harvard University, Princeton University, and Columbia University.
English
HT’s English education adopts a theme-based integrated teaching model, which centers around the children’s basic needs and provides novel and unique learning experiences to the students by using a variety of reading materials. Students will acquire and apply their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in authentic ways, including through inquiry-based methodologies rich with literature, music, art, and drama. Students will also learn in a variety of settings including with partners and in groups in order to develop important skills such as collaboration and critical thinking.
Science
HT Science curriculum will be based on the Chinese National Curriculum Standard, with reference to the internationally regarded Next Generation Science standards. Students will develop a cohesive understanding of Science over time through interactive instruction that promotes analysis and interpretation of data, critical thinking, problem solving, and connections across all science disciplines, including engineering. Students will also have opportunities throughout the year to participate in specially created HT gold standard project-based learning (PBL) units, when all the subjects will be integrated so they can engage in rich real-world problem-solving experiences.
